Searching for TEF Canada re-evaluation? CCI’s current process is an appeal for a serious anomaly or malfunction during the test. A disappointing score alone is not the stated basis for an appeal. Start by contacting your test centre and describing what happened. The published remedy for a validated problem is a retake of the affected test or tests, rather than a changed mark on the original performance. Official appeal guidance.

TEF re-evaluation cost and deadline

| What is the deadline? | Within 30 days of the results certificate’s issue date. |

Check what happens to your existing certificate
Do not assume that you can choose whichever result is higher. CCI warns that the previous certificate and scores will be cancelled regardless of the replacement results. Its English appeal page says this occurs once the procedure has begun; its French conditions describe cancellation once the procedure is accepted and completed. Ask the centre or CCI to clarify the timing for your case before proceeding. English appeal page · French conditions.
How to prepare an appeal request
Use a factual account that the centre can investigate. A useful message identifies the date, centre, affected skill, approximate point in the session and the problem you reported to the supervisor. Separate what you observed from what you think caused it.
For example, “the headset stopped producing sound during the listening test, and I informed the supervisor immediately” is more actionable than “my listening score cannot be right”. Use that example only as a model for clarity; describe your own experience accurately.
Keep your registration confirmation, certificate and relevant correspondence together. Note the certificate issue date separately from the examination date so you do not calculate the deadline from the wrong event. Keep personal identifiers within the centre’s or CCI’s official channels, rather than posting your full certificate publicly.
CCI directs candidates to their user account, using the email address supplied at registration. Its candidate account guide shows where eligible sessions and appeal status appear. Use the link from the official appeal page to reach the portal.
If your score is lower than expected
First identify the actual issue: a session problem, a question about the certificate, or a gap between your preparation and the test result. Contact the centre about the first two. For a score-conversion question, use the TEF score chart with the correct score field from your certificate.
If your next step is more preparation, use fresh tasks to investigate recurring errors. In writing, compare your response with the task instructions and check whether each reason has supporting detail. In speaking, check whether you answered the other person’s questions and objections. A remembered feeling that the test went well is difficult to turn into a study plan; specific examples from new practice are more useful.
Our writing practice, speaking practice and TEF Canada study plan can help you prepare. Practice feedback does not override an official result or establish grounds for an appeal. For certificate delivery and validity, return to the TEF results guide.
